It's certainly been awhile since I've updated, hasn't it?
Its been a busy time for me here, between art jobs, my part time job, preparing the coops for winter (its almost here, we may get snow by week's end in fact) and preparing and then going to a poultry show in Michigan. I wouldn't trade it for anything though.
It was a long drive out to Michigan, but it was well worth it. Saw some amazing birds, met up with some old friends and made new ones. To me that's the main thing I like about a show (though winning here and there is icing on the cake!) To keep you all entertained, here's a few pictures from the Polish Breeders Club National that was held this year in Frankenmuth, MI. I've mixed in a few pictures of other breeds too, and this is just a fraction of the pics I took while there.
Here's a few nifty looking lil bantams. Self Buffs, bred by Doug Kamer, a good friend of mine.
A couple of amazing looking Blue Andalusian hens. Haven't seen such precise markings on this breed before.
A Tollbunt Polish hen. Very rare.
I was surprised to see this bird, and the others like her. Beautiful bearded black Polish by Joel Henning.
I couldn't get over the size of this barred Rock hen.
This largefowl Modern Game reminded me of a Sid Taylor....I think it was the color and headshape.
If you've ever wondered what a chocolate or white crested chocolate Polish should look like, here's your answer.
Some largefowl self white Polish. There was quite a few exceptional birds in this color.
I'd really like to know who's nonbearded gold lace Polish this is. The breeder was from Michigan if I remember.
A largefowl black tailed red Polish. Something new that's just come out of the woodwork in the last few years.
A massive pair of Salmon Faverolles.
Another Doug Kamer project - the bearded crele Polish.
And a nice looking white crested blue bantam Polish to round things out.
