I've been waiting until I had the proper shipping info to unveil these, they are the awards that were given out to the members of the Polish Breeders Club at our National show this year. It was a lot of work (especially finding a way to make the lettering work!) but overall I'm satisfied with them.
Congrats to the winners!
And don't forget the holidays are fast approaching. If ya have a chicken fanatic on your list and don't know what to get them, have a look at my online store, you may find just what you're looking for.

So where have I been?
It's certainly been awhile since I've updated, hasn't it?
Its been a busy time for me here, between art jobs, my part time job, preparing the coops for winter (its almost here, we may get snow by week's end in fact) and preparing and then going to a poultry show in Michigan. I wouldn't trade it for anything though.
It was a long drive out to Michigan, but it was well worth it. Saw some amazing birds, met up with some old friends and made new ones. To me that's the main thing I like about a show (though winning here and there is icing on the cake!) To keep you all entertained, here's a few pictures from the Polish Breeders Club National that was held this year in Frankenmuth, MI. I've mixed in a few pictures of other breeds too, and this is just a fraction of the pics I took while there.
Here's a few nifty looking lil bantams. Self Buffs, bred by Doug Kamer, a good friend of mine.
A couple of amazing looking Blue Andalusian hens. Haven't seen such precise markings on this breed before.
A Tollbunt Polish hen. Very rare.
I was surprised to see this bird, and the others like her. Beautiful bearded black Polish by Joel Henning.
I couldn't get over the size of this barred Rock hen.
This largefowl Modern Game reminded me of a Sid Taylor....I think it was the color and headshape.
If you've ever wondered what a chocolate or white crested chocolate Polish should look like, here's your answer.
Some largefowl self white Polish. There was quite a few exceptional birds in this color.
I'd really like to know who's nonbearded gold lace Polish this is. The breeder was from Michigan if I remember.
A largefowl black tailed red Polish. Something new that's just come out of the woodwork in the last few years.
A massive pair of Salmon Faverolles.
Another Doug Kamer project - the bearded crele Polish.
And a nice looking white crested blue bantam Polish to round things out.

Its here, finally! Store opening!
After much planning, working, and reworking, its here! What is it? My online store. Now you can purchase all sorts of cool stuff with my imagery on it. Coffee mugs, hats, t-shirts, bumper stickers, all sorts of things. Be sure to check it out if you get the chance. Enjoy it! If you have suggestions or comments on what you see, please share them with me.

I will be adding more items as time goes on, and if the store is successful I will be expanding the product lines all across the board.
I'll still be taking on commissions, so if you've got a favorite bird you'd like commemorated, or your breed club would like updated imagery (or perhaps a painting of a new color you're trying to get standardized) just give me an email --> jhoffman@hoffman-art.com

New work
This is the first in what will be a series of graphite drawings based solely on observation. The subject is one of our grey game stags. All comments appreciated.
I'm always working to improve the accuracy of my work, which is why I am doing this series.
If you like what you see, and would like me to do some work for you, email me at jhoffman@hoffman-art.com

Something a little different....Oh, and Commissions
This commission piece was recently completed. I decided, given the nature of the client, to experiment a little by combining ink and acrylic for this one. It gives off a lively, lighthearted feel.
Speaking of commissions, I am currently accepting commission work. Price is a matter of correspondance. contact me at jhoffman@hoffman-art.com with what you have in mind.

Moving
I'm recently in the process of moving both myself and my studio back to my home state. It will be nice to be on the farm again, and be able to walk out the front door to my reference material (the chickens.)
